2.30 am and I still am not sleeping

Yes, I am well aware that I have to work tomorrow. We are so shortstaffed because two of the casual drivers have gone away for Christmas to their overseas family celebrations. I don’t blame them at all – they don’t get paid permanent rates or are even guaranteed work: they get to pick up the slack of the incredibly busy time of year we are having right now. I would go off on holiday, too.

The trouble is, I sort of rely on this job. I have a mortgage, I have two teenage girls to keep in tampons and lipgloss. They eat like they are playing as quarterbacks (American perusers, did I get that right?) and the electricity and gas required to keep them looking dainty and gorgeous besides the whole ‘stomping over the Louboutin sales ridiculous prices’ seems to keep them somewhat focused.

About quirkycharm

I like to think that I have a certain quirky charm but I am probably being optimistic. Acquired taste, perhaps, which many don't acquire. This is about my fifth blog out there. My hosting companies kept going out of business or my IT exhusband kept hacking into them and I would move again. I don't do twitter, I barely do facebook, I don't try and 'monetize' my blog. I love my husband, my grown children and my job and this particular incarnation of oversharing my life comes at a time when I am the most content that I have ever been. I write always, sporadically during the good stuff and exhaustingly during the bad.
