I am getting excited

I do hope that the car finance goes through. I know it will stretch me financially but I so want to have a vehicle which will enable me to again participate in a leisure activity that I adore – camping.

I have that week booked off in July and I am planning budgets (can’t afford it, but what’s new?) and itineraries and menus and packing and accessories and I am just so looking excited I can barely stand it.

And my awesome, amazing, wonderful boyfriend is going to actually build me a custom designed roof rack! We are talking sizes and weights and bits and pieces and it is great to have a joint project together.

My younger daughter is coming; his has declined, because of the lack of toilet amentities. My older daughter probably won’t come, as she can’t get time off work; his son is in the same situation.

We will be bush camping (pit toilets, no water, no showers, firepits and bring all your own stuff). Washing will be swimming extensively throughout the day and boil-a-kettle-and-bowl-wash at night. It will be cold at night and dirty throughout the day. There will be a lack of fresh food and cold drinks. Bedtime will be early and getting up just as early. There will be climbing and walking and sore muscles  and scrapes and bruises. Possibly flat tyres and engin shakedown problems.

And I am counting down the days!

About quirkycharm

I like to think that I have a certain quirky charm but I am probably being optimistic. Acquired taste, perhaps, which many don't acquire. This is about my fifth blog out there. My hosting companies kept going out of business or my IT exhusband kept hacking into them and I would move again. I don't do twitter, I barely do facebook, I don't try and 'monetize' my blog. I love my husband, my grown children and my job and this particular incarnation of oversharing my life comes at a time when I am the most content that I have ever been. I write always, sporadically during the good stuff and exhaustingly during the bad.

sounds hellish but then again an uninterrupted block of 5 hr sleep would be my idea of a holiday at the moment…
