Holding Pattern

My fever went down in the night and the swelling and redness reduced slightly. Needless to say, I didn’t go to the doctor. I probably wouldn’t be taking such a relaxed approach if I hadn’t been informed that next week’s tour has been put back a fortnight; this does give me time.

Today I have been lying up and elevating my foot and if it hasn’t got any better, well, at least it hasn’t got any worst, either. I’ve also been taking my temperature three hourly to see if the fever has come back.

It isn’t uncommon for cellulitis to resolve itself: the body has a lot of capable defence mechanisms and is very good at restoring balance. Other people’s bodies, I mean; mine appear to be distinctly sub-standard in that capacity. I am willing to give it a chance but I don’t altogether trust it, hence the temperature taking.

I don’t feel brilliantly well but a fever again will be the tipping point. That and/or increased outward swelling and redness again. We shall see.

About quirkycharm

I like to think that I have a certain quirky charm but I am probably being optimistic. Acquired taste, perhaps, which many don't acquire. This is about my fifth blog out there. My hosting companies kept going out of business or my IT exhusband kept hacking into them and I would move again. I don't do twitter, I barely do facebook, I don't try and 'monetize' my blog. I love my husband, my grown children and my job and this particular incarnation of oversharing my life comes at a time when I am the most content that I have ever been. I write always, sporadically during the good stuff and exhaustingly during the bad.
