Remember how I said the finger was healing well?

Turns out not so much. It stayed straight for less than a day and then developed brewer’s droop again.

I went to the plastic clinic this morning and was told I would be referred back into the medical side of it, rather than OT and PT, to discuss my options. They basically boil down to leave it along and get a frozen top joint and arthritis later on and not be able to clench a fist on that hand again. Or surgery. In which case, at least ten weeks recovery and maybe not back to full function anyway.

I am not surprised at being on the wrong side of the statistics AGAIN. Story of my life.

I’ve postponed the decision for six months. I am going off to work in the desert tomorrow. We are driving 2700km to Alice Springs where I will hopefully start my new job.

About quirkycharm

I like to think that I have a certain quirky charm but I am probably being optimistic. Acquired taste, perhaps, which many don't acquire. This is about my fifth blog out there. My hosting companies kept going out of business or my IT exhusband kept hacking into them and I would move again. I don't do twitter, I barely do facebook, I don't try and 'monetize' my blog. I love my husband, my grown children and my job and this particular incarnation of oversharing my life comes at a time when I am the most content that I have ever been. I write always, sporadically during the good stuff and exhaustingly during the bad.
