There’s only a couple of day tours for February but it is getting busier and March will have me out a lot, even if I don’t know where right now. Once we hit April, I’ll be working intensively so I don’t mind the quieter time right now: I’m sourcing material, planning itineraries and trying to get as prepared as I can.
The two February tours are one day-ers, one to the southwest for a country racing meeting and the other slightly north around the crayfishing area. I have also volunteered my time for a fund raising tour, designed to raise money for the victims of the latest ghastly bushfire around here; all of the money goes to the Lord Mayor’s fund and I am so impressed that my company is doing it.
For my two (paying) February tours, I will be taking the road coach as part of a crew of two. This is a 48 seater and although I have a licence to drive it theoretically, most of my prior driving has been in smaller, more light weight vehicles. It goes without saying that I hate the first time I do anything new for a job, even when there isn’t any outside pressure on me. I put the pressure on me and it keeps me awake at night, fretting.
Ughh. I hate stage fright. Doesn’t make any difference that I will do okay, based on past experiences. I doubt myself right up until I am actually doing it. The anticipation is so much worse than the actuality.
