Bittersweet

The photo posted is of Emma Gorge and it is the first time I have been back in nearly ten years. When i worked for APT, i loved staying there.Studio_20160611_204536-1

We would have just come down from the Mitchell Plateau and staying inthose luxury ensuite tents at this wonderful resort, complete with dinner service and bar, was a small slice of heaven. Best of all, they had a phone and I could call somebody. I remember staying up half the night, high on love and giddy with the intoxication of being completely and utterly happy with my life.

Well, those days were a decade ago. Emma Gorge, both the resort and the actual gorge, hasn’t changed. I have, though, and even though my life is very happy now, I feel a pang remembering what I once had and what is now no longer mine.

About quirkycharm

I like to think that I have a certain quirky charm but I am probably being optimistic. Acquired taste, perhaps, which many don't acquire. This is about my fifth blog out there. My hosting companies kept going out of business or my IT exhusband kept hacking into them and I would move again. I don't do twitter, I barely do facebook, I don't try and 'monetize' my blog. I love my husband, my grown children and my job and this particular incarnation of oversharing my life comes at a time when I am the most content that I have ever been. I write always, sporadically during the good stuff and exhaustingly during the bad.
